Mac's independent LP, 'Blue Slide Park', is expected to debut at No.1 on the Billboard charts next week. The album is projected to sell nearly 100,000 units in its first week -- those kinds of numbers for an independent release aren't seen very often.
Rostrum Records' lead executive spoke to Billboard about the accomplishment.
"We've learned a lot about the ins and outs of the majors and how different things operate [through working with Khalifa]," Grinberg says. "We try to apply those lessons to everything we do . . . I'm not on some sort of revolutionary [anti-major] kick. I just know there are better ways of doing things."
This just goes to show you the power of good work ethic coupled with social media.
