After the platinum success of her debut album Pink Friday, fans are eagerly awaiting what's next from Nicki Minaj. Good news, because Birdman says the Young Money princess is in the studio working on her sophomore effort. The Cash Money founder and co-CEO caught up with Billboard to discuss the status of Nicki's album and disclosed a potential release as early the first few months in 2012.
"Nicki's back in the studio, so we're looking to drop Nicki in the first quarter," said Baby, stating that a single could be out by the end of the year. "Maybe this year? I don't know. [...] We're really thinking it out. But she's in the studio, and we're looking real soon, because she's ready to go and we're ready to go with her."
YMCMB has a heavy roster and plans on hitting the streets with albums from Nicki, Birdman, Busta and Jay Sean next year.
